Brazil has 68 national parks. Some 95% of tourist visits are to 10 of these parks. But what parks these are! For instance, at Iguaçu you can see what are arguably the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. In the Pantanal Matogrossense National Park, the world's largest freshwater wetland, you can see the best wildlife and birdlife in Brazil, if not in the whole of South America. The Lençóis Maranhenses National Park is a coastal area where a glorious expanse of sand dunes stretch between land and sea. The Chapada Diamantina National Park is a wonderful place to hike amidst forests, caves and waterfalls. And, of course, there is the Amazon to explore!
